The Walnut Hills Boys Rugby Club, based at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, is the only rugby club team in the city. This unique position allows us to welcome high school students from any school in the Greater Cincinnati area, including those without rugby programs. We are dedicated to shaping young lives through the sport of rugby, where we believe that a well-played game can inspire a life well-lived.

2025 Spring Season

Weekday practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday starting February 18th. Practices are at Marx Stadium at Walnut Hills High School from 4-6. Walnut students can report to the fields by 3:30. Practices will start at 4 to allow players from other schools time to travel. All players are welcome! Bring a friend! Players will need water, cleats, and a mouthguard at every practice. I still have some mouthguards from the fall in case people forget theirs. Players should also dress for the weather, understanding that Marx Stadium can be a bit of a wind tunnel and it gets cold. Gloves, hats, etc. are all fine for practice. Can't get much accomplished when the guys can't feel their fingers.

All players are welcome, no experience necessary. Bring a friend and be sure to dress for the weather.

WHY RUGBY?

Rugby is one of the fastest growing youth sports in the United States. Rugby is a great way for kids to improve their physical fitness, develop social skills, and build life long friendships. Rugby is a great sport for athletes that are looking to try something new or improve skills that translate to other sports, such as wrestling, football, and soccer. There is a spot for everyone in rugby.

In rugby, respect and sportsmanship are valued above all. Players are taught and expected to respect the sir, coaches, and opponents. Players are taught to hold themselves accountable and work for the betterment of the team.

Starting in the spring of 2021, Walnut Hills will play in the Greater Miami Rugby Conference as part of Rugby Ohio's move to more regional conferences. For more info, please go to Rugby Ohio - Regional Conferences.
